UC Browser is taken down from Play Store

We started to hear about UC browser when we started to use the internet on the phone. When Android came UC also became famous along with other Browsers.

When chrome became top in play store, UC still stays with unique design and features. A few weeks back there was a concern about UC sending user data to Chinese servers but that time there was no problem with the play store. So we can assume that data breach is not the issue behind the current take down.

UC Browser has been taken down from the play store which already has 500 million downloads. The Browser is from the Alibaba Group which is a Chinese based company. The company still didn’t come up with an explanation as to why the browser is taken down from the play store. The dismissal is not because of the data breach but the use of malicious ads which they started to use recently.

Various reports say that this dismissal is due to the use of malicious ads that the browser uses. Various stories are flooding throughout the internet stating different reasons, which one is correct is still unclear since both didn’t declare any official statement regarding the take down.

The Android Police received a mail regarding an affiliate which was as follows:

The inappropriate use of Ads is the reason why they (Google) has taken down UC from the play store as stated by Android Police.
Also, another source is spreading that an employee from UC received the mail that, UC browser is temporarily being taken down from the play store for 30 days due to the “Misleading and Unhealthy” methods of increasing the installs.
However, still millions of users are using the browser and those who want to install the browser can download it from the official UC browser’s site.
